Anstey Hall now has in-house catering (menus available on request). We can still recommend outside caterers if you would like an alternative, or you can choose your own. If you are choosing your own it is essential that they provide us with a copy of their local authority star rating which grades their food hygiene and a copy of their Public Liability Insurance. We make a ten percent commission charge to all outside caterers. You will need to make them aware of this.
We can accommodate up to 90 guests in the Venetian ballroom for a sit down meal. The marquee can seat 200. Usually a long top table is positioned to the side with the guests seated at round tables. Tables and chairs are included in the venue price. Outside caterers will generally provide table cloths & napkins, cutlery and tableware. Glasses, water jugs etc are included in our wine prices.
Our wedding planners can advise on all the aspects of the catering for your day. You might want to consider a buffet either served or self-service. You do not have to have a sit down meal as a hog roast can be very economical. We have organised very smart fish and chip vans. Classic country weddings can be enhanced by quirky unmatched crockery and afternoon teas.
Instead of the familiar chocolate fountain we recommend a crepe station for your evening guests as it looks so inviting with all the ingredients laid out, cut fruit and chocolate. (www.ilovecrepes.co.uk).
Our planners really do go the extra mile for our couples — we recently sourced Welsh and Belgian newspapers to wrap the chips for a Welsh and Belgian couple.
We can provide both wines and champagnes. We are fully licensed and our staff will serve the drinks for the reception and the meal. Our prices are reasonable—as a rule of thumb they will be double the off-license cost. We can organise wine tastings and gladly provide bottles at cost for tasting.
If you want to bring your own wines we will charge a competitive corkage.
Most couples have a cash bar at their weddings. We can run any combination from an open bar to a token system or a bar tab settled in advance with drinks charged after that sum is spent. We have two premium lagers and ale on tap and at least six different bottled lagers. Real ale is becoming increasingly popular with young drinkers and we can obtain small casks to suite.
